A dramatic search is underway along the coast of Burgas region, after an 18-year-old young man from Sliven drowned while swimming at Arkutino beach. Official sources from the Regional Police Directorate reported the critical situation that occurred yesterday afternoon around 3:00 PM.
Initial information reveals that the boy entered the water together with his 17-year-old girlfriend. However, a sudden strong wave carried him far from the shore, which immediately triggered a large-scale rescue operation.
Beach lifeguards and a specialized diving team from the Regional Border Police Directorate - Burgas were involved in the search. Despite the extensive actions taken, the young man's body remains unrecovered at the moment.
This incident recalls another similar case in July, when a man was rescued in the waters of Nesebar Bay after being carried away by the wind while using a paddleboard.
