A middle-aged worker met a tragic end while performing his official duties at a thermal power plant, official sources from the regional Labor Inspection in Kyustendil reported today.
The dramatic incident was registered around 10:00 in the morning, when a 64-year-old employee, hired by an external Pernik company, took non-standard actions to inspect a biomass production facility.
According to initial data, the man asked a colleague to be lifted with a platform to review the specialized equipment. Subsequently, he independently entered the machine, which was turned off at the time, with the remote control for its activation in his possession.
Four witnesses became direct eyewitnesses to the fatal incident, reported Hristo Demirevski - director of the local labor inspection. The department added that thorough actions have been taken to document the incident - explanatory notes have been taken and the relevant documentation has been seized.
At the moment, the investigation continues, and the management of TPP "Bobov dol" has not provided an official comment on the tragic incident. The signal about the accident was received on phone 112 at 10:40.
