Border Police and rescue services teams retrieved the bodies of a 14-year-old youth and a 35-year-old man from the waters of the Southern Port in Nessebar after a tragic sea incident near Sunny Beach. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon when two citizens from the town of Septemvri entered the water despite extremely dangerous weather conditions.

According to official information from the Regional Police Directorate in Burgas, the victims were part of a larger group that improperly entered the sea with a red warning flag raised. Four members of the group managed to save themselves, while the teenager and his adult relative were swallowed by the extremely strong waves.

The large-scale rescue operation lasted nearly a day under extremely challenging conditions - strong winds and high waves. The search involved specialized technical means, including a drone from the Regional Border Police Directorate, an integrated observation system, and maritime rescue vessels.

An initial examination of the bodies has been conducted, after which they will be transported for forensic expertise at the University Hospital in Burgas. A pre-trial investigation has been initiated by the Nessebar Police Department to clarify all circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
