Incident near the Ropotamo River
A serious road accident has blocked traffic on the main road between Sozopol and Primorsko. It all began early this morning when a police team attempted to stop a vehicle with Romanian registration for a check at the "Karaagach" checkpoint.
The driver did not obey the signal given with a stop sign and began a risky getaway at high speed, which escalated into a pursuit.
How did the crash happen?
A second police team joined the pursuit, but the driver continued to drive aggressively. On a sharp turn at the bridge over the Ropotamo River, the driver lost control of the vehicle, the car veered off the road, and fell from the structure.
Condition of the victims
- Two Spanish citizens were traveling in the vehicle.
- Both have been transported to the hospital for emergency medical assistance.
- One of the victims is in more serious condition and has already undergone surgery.
At the moment, the road remains closed for procedural and investigative actions. Law enforcement authorities have introduced a detour route for those traveling from Primorsko towards Sozopol through Yasna Polyana and Novo Panicharevo.
