A Tesla and a Mercedes Brabus crashed head-on at about 3:10pm at the junction of Lermontov and Mitropolit Simeon streets in Burgas, behind the Hotel Bulgaria. Police at the scene said the cause was a failure to give way.
Two women were driving the cars. Police say the Tesla driver had the right of way and was heading straight towards Hotel Bulgaria. The Brabus driver was coming from the Etno restaurant and turning left towards the Holy Mother of God church, without having priority.
The Mercedes airbag went off, and the car is a complete write-off. The fronts of both cars are badly damaged.
The junction has complex traffic rules. After the crash, traffic through it stopped for a long time and cars piled up until a police patrol arrived.
Both drivers are being tested for alcohol and drugs. The results are not yet known.
