The tanker "Kairos" has been detained by order of the Maritime Administration due to unseaworthiness and danger. After a successful operation to tow it from the area of Ahtopol, the ship is at anchor in Burgas Bay.
There are three crew members on board. The costs of the operation will be calculated and presented to the shipowner. The government has allocated 1.2 million leva for this purpose.
According to Eng. Zhivko Petrov, director of the Maritime Administration - Burgas, the tanker will be legally detained, and the costs will be presented to the shipowner. After payment, the shipowner will be responsible for the relocation of the ship. The Maritime Administration will monitor it and may conduct additional inspections. There are representatives of the shipowner and part of the crew on board.
