A New Era in Maritime Education in Burgas
Future sailors and captains from the St. Nicholas Vocational High School of Maritime Shipping and Fishing in Burgas now have access to the most modern equipment, bringing the real maritime industry directly into the classroom. The new STEM center at the high school is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies aimed at preparing students for the challenges of the labor market.
"The investment in a STEM center is a key step towards modernizing vocational education and aligning it with the needs of the business," shared representatives of the educational community.
What technologies are being integrated into the training?
- Engine Room Simulator: Allows for practical exercises in an environment identical to real vessels.
- Artificial Intelligence and 3D Modeling: Students can visualize complex ship systems that are too large or difficult to observe in a real-world environment.
- High-tech Equipment: Five interactive displays, graphics tablets, and specialized software for safety during accidents and fires.
The center also provides a space for teachers where they can exchange innovative methodologies and create original teaching materials based on the highest standards of functionality and safety.
