Summer Festival of Sung Poetry in Burgas
For the 18th consecutive year, on July 31 and August 1, the iconic "Okhlyuva" stage in the Sea Garden of Burgas will host the "Salty Winds" festival. The forum brings together 25 individual performers, duets, and groups from Bulgaria, Italy, Ukraine, and Russia.
This year's edition places a special emphasis on young authors, who will share the stage with established names in the genre.
Program Highlights:
- "The Bard's Song" – premiere original performances.
- "The Dog Watch" – a dose of humor, parodies, and satirical songs.
- "Bards Around the World" – a tribute to the work of Bob Seger, Georges Moustaki, and Bulat Okudzhava.
"Against the Wind" Competition
The culmination of the festival is the competition for a new original song with an active civic stance. This year, a record 11 songs are competing, and the winner will be awarded a unique sculpture by Neven Kiderov.
The event is realized with the assistance of the Municipality of Burgas and is a must-visit for every fan of sung poetry.
