A New Beginning at the Bulgarian Energy Holding
Minister of Energy Iva Petrova announced the appointment of a new Board of Directors of the Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH). The team includes Andrey Zhivkov, Ilza Chinkova, Ivo Todorov, Petar Angelov, and Vasil Vasilev.
"We will not tolerate an approach that puts our sector at risk," Petrova stated firmly.
The main motives for the changes include:
- Established troubling management practices within the holding.
- Critical delays in repair programs and the preparation of base-load capacities.
- An inefficient structure with an inflated staff of 136 people in the central administration.
Petrova announced the start of large-scale audits that will cover key companies such as NPP Kozloduy - New Capacities and Maritsa Iztok Mines. The goal is to ensure the efficient expenditure of public resources and the security of the energy system.
