Wind is once again making headlines. In Sliven, gusts are reaching about 90 km/h, and in the afternoon, moderate to strong northwesterly winds are expected. Along the coast, the wind is moderate but blowing from the east. Temperatures will drop noticeably compared to yesterday - between 18 and 23 degrees almost everywhere, and around 17 in Sofia. Cloud cover will shift throughout the day, and light rain is possible in places, including along the Black Sea coast.
Tomorrow, September 23, astronomical autumn officially begins early in the morning - daylight hours continue to grow shorter.
At night it will turn even colder - almost everywhere between 4 and 9 degrees, around 7 in Sofia, and up to 11-12 in parts of southern Bulgaria. Along the Black Sea coast, however, nights remain warm, between 18 and 23 degrees. During the day, temperatures will barely change - between 17 and 22 degrees, and along the coast, between 19 and 21. There will be clouds again tomorrow, with light drizzle in places, and moderate northwesterly winds.
Along the Black Sea coast, cloud cover will be more significant along the southern shore, where rain is also expected. The wind will remain strong, with occasional gusts from the north-northwest.
It will also be windy in the mountains, where strong northwesterly winds will blow. Rain is expected there, and at higher elevations, where temperatures drop below freezing, the rain will turn to snow.
Over the coming days, sunshine will dominate, while on Saturday there's a greater chance of rain in eastern Bulgaria. Daytime temperatures will gradually rise.
