A bomb threat reached the Palace of Justice in Burgas during a court hearing on a serious ATV crash in Sunny Beach. The building was not evacuated and work did not stop.
Court Security officers searched the building and checked it for suspicious objects with a special device that detects explosives. They found nothing dangerous.
Institutions in Stara Zagora, Kazanlak, Haskovo, Dimitrovgrad and Yambol also got bomb threats today. The threats came by email. They are the latest in the region in recent days, and checks so far have found no explosives.
In Stara Zagora, the email went to the District Prosecutor's Office. All institutions in the Palace of Justice have stopped work until 1pm. Hearings that did not take place today will be rescheduled, and the parties will get new summonses.
The hospital in Kazanlak got an email saying a bomb had been planted in the building. Officials are checking on site whether the threat is real.
In Haskovo, the Palace of Justice was threatened for the second day running. Both yesterday and today, the email went to the District Court. In Dimitrovgrad, the threats were sent to a school and two kindergartens.
The threats in Haskovo and Dimitrovgrad came in between 10.30am and 11am, the press office of the Haskovo regional police directorate told BTA. People were taken out of the buildings, the checks followed procedure and there is no real threat. Heads of the institutions sign the check reports and work goes on.
In Yambol, the town council and the Palace of Justice both got new malicious emails. Both buildings were emptied yesterday, and police closed off the areas around them. No explosives were found, and work resumed after the checks.
