A series of drone attacks against Russian strategic targets

06.06.2025 | War in Ukraine

During the night, numerous air attacks were recorded in Russia, in which a petroleum base in Engels and a high-tech equipment plant in Michurinsk were struck. This demonstrates Ukraine's growing capabilities to reach critical infrastructure and military targets deep in the Russian rear.

According to the Russian authorities, 174 unmanned aerial vehicles and 3 "Neptune" missiles were detected and shot down over Crimea. However, some of the drones managed to reach strategic targets in the Russian rear. The oil base in the city of Engels was hit, and a video from the scene of the incident is circulating on the network. The "Progress" plant in Michurinsk, which produces high-tech equipment for aviation and missile systems, as well as electrical engineering for civilian use and gas and oil pipelines, was also hit.

This is another attack in the deep rear of Russia, showing Ukraine's growing ability to hit critical infrastructure and military targets, even outside the occupied territories. The information is collected from Ukrainian and Russian sources, as well as from OSINT channels.
