The family of a 10-year-old girl from Ravda who has cerebral palsy is asking for €5,000 to pay for her regular rehabilitation. Her relatives have launched an appeal because they cannot cover the costs on their own.
The girl has a mild form of cerebral palsy with right-sided spastic hemiparesis. It affects the right side of her body. Her right foot lands on the toes, which makes it hard for her to move.
She also has epilepsy, which is treated with medication, and scoliosis, which needs to be monitored. Rehabilitation helps with the scoliosis too.
The treatments are part of her daily life. Every day she works to keep and improve her movement. Rehabilitation has to be constant and long-term. It helps her keep what she has gained, move better and become more independent. If the treatments stop, she may lose some of her progress.
The money raised will pay for the treatments she needs for her motor skills.
The appeal says that for most children walking comes naturally, but for her every step is an effort, a struggle and a small victory. Every donation counts, her relatives write, and they ask people not to pass her case by.
