A dramatic case of a road crime shocked the Italian public after 51-year-old Vivian Spor, wife of Lufthansa director Carsten Spor, killed 24-year-old Gaia Costa at the prestigious Porto Cervo resort on the island of Sardinia.

The incident, which occurred on July 8, became public three days later. According to witness testimony, the young woman tried to signal to the driver that she was in a pedestrian zone, but without success. Vivian Spor failed to stop in time and ran over Gaia, whose body was thrown several meters from the impact.

The consequences of the collision were fatal - Gaia Costa suffered a severe head trauma that caused her instant death. Shocked by what happened, Spor fainted on the spot, with passersby trying to revive her.

Immediately after the incident, without being restrained by local authorities, Spor left Italy and returned to Germany the next day. The police began a thorough investigation, reviewing surveillance camera footage and establishing that the driver was not under the influence of alcohol.

The Tempio Pausania Prosecutor's Office officially initiated a pre-trial proceeding for "road murder". Local investigators are already questioning Vivian Spor, with the autopsy of the deceased expected to be performed in the next week.

Paradoxically, Spor is known for her charitable activities, helping young people without financial means to obtain education through her created "Alliance for Help".
