An event dedicated to the role of women in cycling was held at the Flora Exhibition Center in Burgas. The initiative was organized jointly by Burgas Municipality, the Biodiversity Association, the Burgas Cycling Community, and Girls Who Bike Burgas on March 10th.
In the first part, the JUSTGREEN project: "Green Burgas: fair and inclusive green policies", funded by the INTERREG program, was presented. Participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the main goals and upcoming activities of the project, aimed at developing green spaces in the city and improving accessibility to them for all citizens.
After the presentation, an open discussion was held, during which those present shared opinions, ideas and suggestions related to the sustainable development of the urban environment, the role of active transport and the possibilities for better access to green areas in Burgas.
As part of the program, the inspiring presentation "Kenya - between wildlife and people" was also presented, which told about the adventures and challenges of cycling in Kenya, as well as meetings with local culture and nature.
The premiere screening of the documentary "Motherload" was also broadcast, which examines the role of cargo bikes as a means of sustainable transport and change in urban mobility, as well as the importance of cycling for families and communities.
The event highlighted the importance of women's participation in cycling and an active lifestyle, as well as the need to create a more inclusive and sustainable urban environment.
