A Russian military plane crashed Tuesday, September 29, in the village of Krasnoyanovo in Russia's Amur region, killing three servicemen. Seven people were on board; four others were taken to hospital.
The plane went down right next to homes. Videos posted on social media showed a large fire at the site, with sounds like exploding ammunition.
"Everything was on fire and the windows shook," said a local woman whose house is nearby.
The type of plane is still not confirmed. Officials first said it was a Tu-154 belonging to Russia's defense ministry, but the latest reports suggest it may have been a Tu-95.
