Russian forces carried out heavy air strikes on Zaporizhzhia in the morning. A 50-year-old man was killed and eight people were wounded, including a child and a police officer, Ukraine's State Emergency Service said.
The wounded are getting all the medical care they need. Rescuers led out 12 people who were trapped in their flats.
At one address, five cars caught fire and firefighters put out the flames. The blast wave and debris damaged multi-storey residential buildings. At the other address there was no fire, but two flats were damaged and the windows of a five-storey block were blown out.
All of the city's emergency services worked at the sites, and rescuers searched the areas to find and help casualties. The number of casualties is still being confirmed.
