Russian attack on Kherson: Hospital and civilians under fire

Another night of violence in occupied Kherson was marked by a large-scale Russian attack, during which civilian facilities were damaged and civilians were injured, while Ukrainian defense shot down dozens of unmanned aerial vehicles.

Dramatic events shook the Kherson region during the night of July 1-2, when Russian military undertook a series of aggressive actions against urban infrastructure. The initial shelling of the city hospital caused serious damage and left eight people injured - including five patients and three medical staff.

The morning hours were marked by additional attacks. As a result of the shelling, a 52-year-old man was hospitalized with a hand fracture. Simultaneously, Russian forces attacked the neighboring village of Antonovka, where three people were injured and admitted to a medical facility.

Ukrainian Air Force reported a large-scale air defense operation, during which 79 Russian drones were shot down. According to official information, Russia launched a total of 114 Shahed unmanned vehicles, accompanied by four S-300 missiles. The damage covered 14 settlements, with debris from downed aerial targets falling in two of them.

The report from the Kherson Regional Military Administration and the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirms the scale of Russian aggression and the effectiveness of Ukrainian air defense.
