Russian drones wounded people in the Kharkiv and Odesa regions on the evening of 1 November and overnight into 2 November. Five people were hurt in the Odesa region, and warehouses, houses and a bakery were damaged. An energy site was also hit, regional governor Oleh Kiper said.
In the Kharkiv region village of Vasyshcheve, 12 people were wounded, including a child. A Russian strike also destroyed buildings in Kramatorsk, and 193 attack drones flew over Ukraine overnight into 2 November.
Kharkiv region
Drones hit the village of Vasyshcheve in the Bezlyudivka community on the evening of 1 November. Twelve people were wounded, including a child.
One drone reportedly hit the roof of a five-storey apartment block. It damaged the structure of several flats and the floor between storeys. Rescuers pulled out two residents who were trapped in a top-floor flat.
Three fires broke out at other addresses. Greenhouses, hay and a cold-storage unit at a private business burned.
Odesa region
Early reports say five people were wounded, and all are getting medical care. The strikes damaged warehouses, office buildings and private houses. A bakery building was destroyed.
A site run by DTEK Odesa Electric Networks was also attacked. By morning, power was back for some customers, and emergency repairs are continuing.
Kramatorsk
Ukrainian forces showed what the city looks like after Russian strikes. Photos from the channel of the 24th Mechanised Brigade show roads lined with anti-drone nets, wrecked houses, blown-out windows and people who still live there.
On 31 October, a Russian air strike destroyed the city administration building on Mir (Peace) Square. Russian forces are stepping up pressure on Kramatorsk and Sloviansk, hitting infrastructure and supply roads.
Drones overnight
Russia launched 193 Shahed-type attack drones overnight into 2 November, the Ukrainian Air Force said. They included jet-powered ones, Gerbera drones and Parodiya decoys. Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare teams, unmanned systems and mobile fire groups fought off the attack.
By 8am, air defences had shot down or jammed 154 Shahed-type drones, 58 of them jet-powered, as well as drones of other types. Drones hit 26 locations, and debris from downed drones fell on nine.
During the day on 1 November, between 6.30am and 7pm, Russia launched 326 drones at Ukraine. Moscow has been waging a full-scale war against Ukraine since February 2022.
