The spacecraft Mars Express and ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter conducted an unprecedented study that fundamentally changes our understanding of the climatic processes on the Red Planet. Through precise radio-technical methods, experts managed to generate 71 detailed vertical profiles, revealing fundamental characteristics of the Martian atmosphere.

The scientific analysis, published in the prestigious Journal of Geophysical Research – Planets on June 20, 2025, reveals exceptional details about temperature variations, atmospheric density, and ionospheric phenomena. A key achievement is the confirmation that the Mars Express mission can continue its research activities until 2034 thanks to modern software solutions for stabilizing gyroscopic systems.

The obtained results are of fundamental importance for planetology, providing invaluable information about atmospheric dynamics. They will help develop more precise climate models and will be critical for planning future space expeditions to Mars.
