Next Monday, a contractor will be chosen for the project for the complete renovation and modernization of the Graphic Base in Burgas, announced the National Academy of Arts (NAA). The project, implemented jointly with Edirne (Turkey), is part of the Interreg program and aims to promote cultural tourism.

If the selection procedure goes smoothly, the renovation activities are expected to begin in early 2026 and to be completed in the summer of 2027. The total budget of the project is 985,691 euros, of which the NAA will provide over 550 million euros. The implementation period is 24 months.

From the Bulgarian side, the main investment is the renovation of the Graphic Base in the Sea Garden. The building will be raised and the lighting will be improved. After the renovation, the base will have studios, a gallery, and a cultural and educational center.

Two-day events are planned in Bulgaria and Turkey, presenting local artists and creating conditions for “creative tourism”. On the Turkish side, a mobile tourist office with VR and 3D technologies will be developed.

The project reinforces the good relations between Bulgaria and Turkey. The NAA branch in Burgas has over 140 students, and the academy celebrates 130 years.
