The Minister of Energy Tрайчо Трайков commented on the situation in the energy sector and the reform that will take place. He clarified that he is not talking so much about commitments under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP), but the reform will happen, as it is or without him.
Tрайков commented that there is a significant delay on the issue, which was made with good intentions. People who need to make decisions have said that if they wait, they might "get by". However, he admits that this is a wrong strategy.
Regarding what the authorities want to do for the sector and the region, Tрайков pointed out that it is linked to large financial resources. The goal is that no one should lose from this process.
Tрайков said that he had been with the caretaker Prime Minister to comment on the accounts for implementing this transition. In the balance there are expenses, investments and future intentions amounting to 2.859 billion euros by 2030.
Regarding the European emissions trading system and its requested revision by 13 countries, Tрайков said that this is an issue not solved by energy ministers. Usually it is in the jurisdiction of environment, but it will be a topic of discussion at the council of government leaders from EU countries.
Tрайков expressed support for open thinking towards the scheme, its application so far and ideas for its modification. He pointed out that he had been with the caretaker Prime Minister to comment on the accounts for implementing this transition.
Tрайkov said that we have a pretty good plan where things are in sync. People will not suffer, there will be stronger economic activity, and our energy sector will keep options for response.
Regarding emissions trading from buildings and transport, the caretaker minister pointed out that they have protected the government's position to enter from 2030, but not before this date.
