Bulgarians are outraged by the arrogance and conceit, by the provocations that the oligarchs are organizing to discredit the protest of free people. This was stated by the head of state Rumen Radev to journalists in a hotel in the capital, where he will later present the Honorary Sign of the President to Roberto Santorelli.
The ruling authorities have invented a new genre – a protest in support of the government, the president said. In the past, we called this demonstrations, but it cannot hide the obvious – the discontent is widespread, the head of state added.
According to him, at the moment the services and specialized structures of the Ministry of Interior are occupied and harnessed by these same oligarchs against their political opponents. This is a gross abuse of power and they will be held accountable for it, Radev said. I urge law enforcement officers not to tarnish the honor of the uniform and not to sacrifice their professional future for the sake of people who will abandon them tomorrow and run away with their private jets, Radev said.
To the president's question whether he is ready to come out with his own political project from the presidential institution, he answered: “I will do it when they least expect it”.
These same oligarchs, who are on top and consume all the power, on top of everything, they also organize and make attempts for ethnic division. Bulgaria is not their father's house, Bulgaria belongs to all Bulgarians – young and old, and the square is not a place for division, but for unity. Whoever divides Bulgarians by ethnicity or generations, works for their party interests, not for Bulgaria. I urge, when we protest, to obey the law and not forget the most important thing, why we have gathered – the belief that a Bulgaria of law is possible and together we are stronger than the mafia, the president also said.
