A 36-year-old worker was injured in a work accident after falling from a height of about seven – eight meters while carrying out repair work on the roof of a building in Burgas. This was announced to BTA by the director of the Labor Inspectorate in Burgas, Pavlin Vaskov.

The accident happened yesterday afternoon around 2:00 PM in an area on the territory of "Leo Beton" – an enterprise for the production of concrete products. According to initial information, workers were dismantling roofing sheets from metal sheet metal structures there.

During the work, one of the workers fell from the roof, said Vaskov. According to him, the injured person is not an employee of the enterprise, on whose territory the activities were carried out, but of another firm engaged in the dismantling. He had a labor contract.

It was established that the worker was not secured with the appropriate safety equipment – safety belt and other mandatory equipment for working at height, the director of the Labor Inspectorate also pointed out.

A team from the inspectorate was sent to the site yesterday. An inspection of the scene of the accident was carried out and initial explanations were taken.

Further actions are forthcoming to clarify all the circumstances surrounding the case, added Vaskov.
