Incident near Sliven: Hail suppression rocket sets fields on fire
A fire that broke out on July 20 in the lands of the Sliven village of Trapoklovo was caused by a rocket launched from a hail suppression site. The incident resulted in the destruction of about 100 decares of wheat.
"The rocket was launched in automatic mode at 6:45 PM, and a minute later a fire report was received for the area," announced the Regional Directorate for Hail Suppression.
Details of the case
- Cause: A malfunction or technical issue during the launch of a hail suppression rocket, which is designed to disintegrate in the air.
- Damage: Approximately 100 decares of agricultural land planted with wheat.
- Intervention: A part of the rocket was found at the scene, and fire department crews and farmers managed to save 40 decares of crops and three buildings.
The Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Sliven specified that the report was received at 6:49 PM. At this time, the Regional Directorate for Hail Suppression is providing full cooperation to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
