A protest has started outside the Sofia courthouse in support of the families of those who died near Petrohan and on Okolchitsa peak. Protesters want a transparent, fair and unbiased investigation.
The protest's slogan is "No to vandalism." Those gathered outside the courthouse condemn the destruction of the memorial plaque at Petrohan, calling it an insult to the victims' memory and an abuse of their families.
The family of the 15-year-old boy found killed in a camper van on Okolchitsa peak will ask for his body to be exhumed. Relatives are also demanding new questioning, including of people they say changed their statements.
The boy's father, Yani Makulev, wrote on Facebook that he does not accept what prosecutors said at their briefing on 14 September as established fact, and that some of the information made public does not match the initial expert findings.
The family also disputes the findings of the psychological assessment and the claims of violence.
