Prosecutors in Lovech have asked a court to set pre-trial restrictions on two drivers of meat trucks in which police found large amounts of cannabis and cocaine. The court will hear the case early this afternoon, its spokeswoman Petya Ilarionova said.
This story follows our earlier report on the two drivers, who were detained after drugs were found in their trucks. The trucks were carrying meat for the processing plant in Lovech.
B.D.S. is charged with possessing a large amount of cannabis, a high-risk drug, for sale and without a permit. His truck held 204 packs, each weighing about 1.1 kg gross.
N.S.A. is charged with possessing cocaine for sale. Police found 15 kg gross on him, worth €1.5m.
Both men are Bulgarian citizens. The prosecutor in charge of the case ordered that they be held for up to 72 hours so they can be brought before a court.
