Prof. Tatyana Kotseva and Adv. Dimitar Valchev Become Deputy Regional Governors of Burgas

Prof. Tatyana Kotseva and Adv. Dimitar Valchev have been appointed as deputy regional governors of Burgas. Their appointments are by orders of Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov. Prof. Kotseva is a sociologist, and Adv. Valchev is a practicing lawyer.

Prof. Tatyana Kotseva and attorney Dimitar Valchev take up positions as deputy regional governors in Burgas. Their appointment is with orders from Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov, announced the press center of the Regional Administration in the seaside city.

Prof. Tatyana Kotseva is a lecturer at the Free University of Burgas. She is an established sociologist and demographer with a long-standing academic and research career. She is currently a professor at the Institute for Population and Human Research at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Prof. Kotseva has extensive experience as a researcher and expert on national and international projects. Her scientific interests are related to the sociology of the family, family policy, childlessness, and adolescent health.

Attorney Dimitar Valchev practices mainly in the field of criminal law and the executive process. In his professional activity, he also works in the field of human rights, property transactions, and claiming insurance compensation. Valchev is a graduate of the English Language High School "Geo Milev" in Burgas. He continued his education at the Faculty of Law at the Free University of Burgas, majoring in "Law". In the summer of 2025, he became the initiator of the civil initiative "Rounding Down", uniting businesses from all over the country, with a focus on fair revaluation of prices when adopting the euro as the national currency for the benefit of the customer.

The Regional Governor of Burgas, Dobromir Gyulev, introduced the two newly appointed deputy regional governors to the team of the Regional Administration and announced that he would soon determine their areas of activity, added the press center of the institution.
