Primorsko council will rebuild the approach to South Beach and carry out a major overhaul of the rope bridge that leads to it, mayor Ivan Gaykov said on social media.
He showed the design for the project. Work on the bridge and on the area around the approach will go ahead at the same time. The mayor gave no dates.
The rope bridge is the main way to the beach. Thousands of locals and visitors cross it every day in the busy summer season, Gaykov says.
He calls the spot "one of the most beautiful beaches on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast – South Beach in Primorsko". He says the work is needed for the comfort and safety of people, and for the overall impression of the resort.
The overhaul must make sure that "its safety, reliability and fitness for use are guaranteed for decades to come", Gaykov wrote.
The project is one of several the council wants to use to change the look of the town.
