On 08.09.2026, a high-tech automotive components plant officially began operations in the city of Plovdiv, with its opening ceremony conducted by Prime Minister Rumen Radev. The plant operates under the umbrella of "ZS EUROPE" and represents the latest project of the company Shanghai Unison Aluminum Products.
In his address, the Prime Minister highlighted the significance of the investment as a sign of increased interest in our country. "Today's event is a testament to the growing confidence in Bulgaria, in the policies of the Bulgarian government, in political stability and predictability, and in all the measures we are taking to encourage foreign investment," Radev noted. According to him, the presence of the Asian company is proof that the sector highly values the efforts to transform the Bulgarian economy—shifting from a structure relying on low wages and consumption redistribution to a modern base built on attracting capital, high export potential, productivity, and innovative, high value-added production.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the project is a key element in the development of bilateral relations between Sofia and Beijing. "Today, we are not just launching a high-tech enterprise with its expansion. Today's event is an expression of the deepening partnership and friendship between Bulgaria and China," he added. Radev recalled that back in 2019, during his presidential term, he signed a Declaration of Strategic Partnership with Xi Jinping. "In this declaration, we prioritized the development of industrial cooperation, especially in the field of high technologies, and today it is beginning to become a reality," he commented.
The newly opened facilities specialize in creating aluminum components for the world's largest automotive brands. The successful start of this project is a logical continuation of the initial stage, consolidating the investor's stable presence in our country. The official ceremony was also attended by:
