Farmers will get €30.37 for each eligible cow and €53.14 for each buffalo under Bulgaria's transitional national aid scheme for 2026, the Agriculture and Food Ministry has set.
The money must be in farmers' accounts by 10 November 2026 at the latest. The date is in the indicative schedule of State Fund Agriculture for payments until the end of the year, which the fund has published on its website. The schedule covers schemes under the 2023-2027 Strategic Plan for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas.
The aid is not tied to production, so it does not depend on how much a farm produces. The documents list it as PNDZh1. Up to €11,476,150 has been set aside for it in 2026. The management board of State Fund Agriculture – Paying Agency approved the sum at a meeting on 30 September 2026.
The aid is for farmers whose herds had 10 or more cattle and/or 10 or more buffalo on 31 December 2018. The rule comes from Ordinance No 3 of 2023.
A farm must keep at least 50% of the reference number of animals, counted on the last day for applying in the campaign.
A year earlier, in the 2025 campaign, 5,412 farmers received a total of €13,003,487 (25,432,611 leva) under the same scheme.
