In the airwaves of a national television channel, a heated discussion erupted regarding search and arrest procedures, provoked by a recent incident involving the mayor of Varna.
Legal experts Dimitar Markovski and Petar Slavov harshly criticized the Anti-Corruption Commission's actions during the detention of Mayor Blagomir Kotsev. According to them, the methods used by investigating officers are far from accepted European human rights standards.
Slavov definitively described the incident as "absolutely unacceptable behavior". He emphasized that a team of fifteen agents burst into Kotsev's home, confiscating his personal phone and hindering communication with a lawyer.
