Government faces ESM ratification and new investments for Sofia and culture

The caretaker cabinet is discussing today the ratification of the ESM Treaty, funding for the Sofia Municipality, amendments to the Tax and Social Security Procedure Code, and the opening of a representation to UNESCO.

Key decisions of the government meeting

The caretaker government is gathering for a regular meeting to review a series of important state issues. A key focus on the agenda is the proposal to the National Assembly for the ratification of the Treaty Establishing the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) and the amendments related to Bulgaria's accession.

Financing and legislative changes

"The government is taking important steps towards strengthening Bulgaria's administrative presence in international organizations by opening a Permanent Delegation to UNESCO in Paris."

Diplomacy and human rights

During the meeting, an agreement with the Kingdom of the Netherlands for the exchange and mutual protection of classified information will also be approved. The cabinet will also consider the issue of paying compensation under decisions of the European Court of Human Rights, related to the cases "Stanev and the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee v. Bulgaria" and "Kostova and Others v. Bulgaria".
