A serious fire broke out early this morning at a restaurant located in the new part of Sozopol. The incident was reported at 05:04, and according to information from NOVA, initial reports suggest that the flames started from a faulty refrigerator.
The facility was completely destroyed by the blaze. Dense smoke formed during the fire, and the flames managed to spread to neighboring buildings, including hotels and holiday resorts. Due to the risk of further escalation, tourists in the area had to be evacuated immediately; as of now, they have all been relocated to a safe place.
The wooden facade of the Bulgarian Red Cross base, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the burned-out restaurant, was completely destroyed.
At present, teams with three fire engines are working on-site. Firefighters are continuing their extinguishing efforts, with their main focus being to contain the source of the fire and prevent any further spread. There are currently no official reports of any injuries.
