At this time, authorities are still determining the cause of the fire; however, no people or animals were harmed during the massive blaze, which lasted for two days in the lands surrounding the villages of Slivovo and Granitets. The fire did not reach any buildings in the settlements, despite affecting a total area of approximately 1,880 decares.
Data on the incident, accompanied by PHOTOS from the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Burgas, indicate that nearly 1,900 decares of agricultural and forest land were destroyed, of which about 150 decares were broad-leaved forest, with the remainder consisting primarily of dry grass and harvested crops.
A total of 12 firefighting teams from Sredets, Bolyarovo, and Burgas were involved in containing the fire, with a significant number of them remaining on-site throughout the night. Their efforts were supported by forestry officials, volunteers, border police, and municipal representatives.
