Pomorie will host the eighth edition of the "Pomorie Run" on Saturday, September 26, 2026. The race is part of the "Run Bulgaria" series and is jointly organized by Run Bulgaria, the Municipality of Pomorie, and the Bulgarian Athletics Federation.
This year's biggest change is the start and finish location — it's moving to the city center, to the square in front of the "Prosveta 1888" chitalishte (community cultural centre) at 51 Knyaz Boris I Street. The start is set for exactly 10:00 a.m., and runners will cover 17 kilometers between the sea and the lake. The course runs over mixed terrain and, as organizers describe it, is varied and scenic.
The fastest athletes will compete for a prize fund with cash bonuses and gift prizes from Run Bulgaria's partners.
As tradition dictates, there will also be a mass-participation 2,026-meter run for children and beginner runners.
The event kicks off on Thursday, September 24, with children's athletics from 10:00 a.m. to noon. The following day, Friday, September 25, race packets for the Pomorie Run will be handed out at the "Prosveta 1888" chitalishte from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
On race day itself, September 26, packet pickup continues from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m., again at the chitalishte. The 17-kilometer race starts at 10:00 a.m., and five minutes later — at 10:05 a.m. — the 2,026-meter run begins. Awards for the mass-distance race will be presented at 10:30 a.m., while those who complete the 17-kilometer course will receive their prizes between 11:40 a.m. and noon.
Organizers are inviting Pomorie's residents and visitors to come out along the course and cheer on the runners at an event that promotes an active, healthy lifestyle.
