An emergency situation with an acute medical crisis shook Sofia when little Darina fell into a critical health condition after accidentally swallowing medication. Her mother Maria Yordanova found herself in an extremely tense battle to save her child.
The dramatic moments began when the little girl had a severe reaction after consuming medications that were likely left improperly by her father. The mother immediately attempted to reach the emergency department of Pirogov Hospital, but the child's condition quickly deteriorated.
A fateful moment occurred when on the way, Maria encountered a police patrol led by experienced officer Ahmet Hasan from the Fifth District Police Station in Sofia. The police officer immediately understood the seriousness of the situation and took immediate actions for emergency medical assistance.
"I got into her car and immediately started coordinated actions," Ahmet Hasan recounts. His colleagues from the duty center provided the so-called "green wave", blocking intersections and communicating with road police for maximum speed of movement.
Junior Operational Duty Officer Tanyu Tanev adds that coordination between different police units was of exceptional importance. "The distance was significant, and the traffic was extremely intense," he notes.
During the critical journey, the child showed extremely alarming symptoms - vomiting, loss of consciousness, and difficult breathing. Police officers acted like true medical assistants, continuously monitoring little Darina's condition.
Thanks to the professionalism and quick reaction of the police team, the little girl arrived at the hospital in time. Medical personnel managed to apply emergency treatment and stabilize her health condition.
Mother Maria Yordanova expresses exceptional gratitude to the officers who supported her in this critical moment. "They literally saved my child's life," she shares with relief.
The case highlights the exceptional role of police officers not only as guardians of order but also as citizens ready to help in extreme situations. Their speed, coordination, and humanity became a decisive factor in saving little Darina.
Currently, the child is in a recovery period and feels well, thanks to timely medical intervention and the professionalism of the police officers.
