Burgas police have won the men's team title at the national shooting tournament "Independence" in Veliko Tarnovo for the second year running.
Inspector Georgi Prodanov, from the Second district police department in Burgas, and junior expert Yanko Stoyanov, from the district police department in Nesebar, shot for the Burgas team.
Prodanov also posted the best men's score in the individual event and took the gold medal.
Sofia's directorate of internal affairs came second in the team standings, with Veliko Tarnovo police third.
Only interior ministry staff can enter the tournament, which ran for three days at the military range in the village of Belyakovets. Competitors fired for precision and rapid-fire scores with the Kalashnikov rifle and with short-barreled weapons.
Nearly 60 officers from various interior ministry units took part.
