The Municipality of Pomorie and the "Prosveta 1888" Community Center are organizing a large-scale cultural event dedicated to the works of Peyo Yavorov. The initiative will be held from August 28 to 31, 2025, and will include two main components - a national recitation contest and a poetry contest for authors.

The recitation contest is intended for performers of artistic speech from various age groups. Participants will present Yavorov's works - poetry, prose, or drama. The competition will take place in two rounds - the first on August 30 at 11:00 AM, and the second on August 31 at 10:00 AM.

Individual performances are limited to a maximum of 5 minutes, while group recitals can last up to 10 minutes. The prize fund will be provided by the Municipality of Pomorie, the "25 Centuries Pomorie" Foundation, and the "Yavorov" Foundation from Chirpan.

Parallel to the recitation contest, a National Poetry Contest with the theme "Illuminated by the setting sun, they light up the sea expanses..." will be held, which already has a 48-year history, dating back to 1977.

The poetry contest is open to authors over 18 years old from across the country. Participants can submit up to 5 poems that correspond to the spirit and aesthetics of Yavorov's poetry. The deadline for submitting works is August 20, 2025.

The contest will be conducted with strict adherence to anonymity - participants must place their personal data in a separate sealed envelope. The jury will evaluate the submitted works and award prizes on August 31.

The prize fund includes monetary compensation and prestigious awards: first prize of 500 leva and a "Yavorov" plaque, second prize of 300 leva and a diploma, third prize of 200 leva and a diploma. The jury reserves the right not to award any of the prizes in the absence of worthy works.

Those wishing to participate can send their applications and works to: 8200 - Pomorie, 51 Prince Boris I Street, Community Center "Prosveta 1888".

The organizers invite all poetry enthusiasts to participate in this significant cultural event, which continues to preserve the memory of one of the greatest Bulgarian poets.
