Underwater Fishing: SCPS Chernomorets triumphs with 38th title

The Burgas underwater fishing club "Chernomorets" won its 38th title at the National Championship. The team, led by Valentin Lyutskanov, dominates the sport, and the season is also successful for the "Bulgaria" cup.

The competitors from the Burgas underwater fishing club "Chernomorets" can once again be proud. During the past competition season, they categorically confirmed their leading position in this sport, triumphing with their 38th title as National Team Champion. This achievement was also marked as the 8th consecutive victory for the club, demonstrating an impressive dominance in the discipline.

The team, composed of Plamen Arabadzhiev, Danail Edrev, Nikolay Tanev, and Valentin Lyutskanov, demonstrated unwavering confidence from the very beginning of the championship. They took the lead in the standings on the first day and managed to maintain the initiative until the end of the competition, surpassing the competition of 9 other teams from across the country. The catch that brought them victory included mainly sea crows, plaice, mullet, labrids, and meagre.

Second in the final standings was the team of "Vatus Pro" from Varna, while the hosts from the Municipal Club "Marlin" - Primorsko, took third place.

In the individual standings for the National Championship, the champion was Anastas Bachvarov from "Marlin" - Primorsko. Danail Edrev from "Chernomorets" Burgas finished second, and Miroslav Ilchev from the "Vatus Pro" team finished third. The Burgas club performed honorably with two more of its competitors, with Valentin Lyutskanov taking 4th place and Plamen Arabadzhiev - 6th.

The 57th National Underwater Fishing Championship was held in the waters of Primorsko-Kiten-Lozenets, with the event being financially supported by Primorsko Municipality.

The competitive year 2025 proved to be exceptionally successful for the captain of the national team, Valentin Lyutskanov. After 9 tournaments held during the year, he unequivocally won the "Bulgaria" Cup. His triumph was secured a round before the end of the competition, which represents the 5th "Bulgaria" Cup in his career.

As a result of his achievements in the "Bulgaria" Cup and the National Championship, the competitor of "Chernomorets" from Burgas became the absolute champion of the year for the 11th time, achieving a record four-digit result.

For some of the spearfishermen of SKPR "Chernomorets", the competition season continues with the World Underwater Fishing Championship. It will be held at the end of November in the city of Sao Francisco do Sul, Brazil. Our national team, led by captain Valentin Lyutskanov, will compete for a worthy ranking for our country in the waters of the South Atlantic. Plamen Arabadzhiev is also in the national team, who will help with the reconnaissance of the competition zone.
