The blood test of pilot Neyko Neykov, involved in yesterday's incident during the "Aladzha Monastery" hill climb race in Varna, showed negative results for drug use. This became clear from information provided to the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA) by the Appellate Prosecutor's Office in the coastal city. Preliminary field tests on the man showed negative results for alcohol but positive for amphetamines. Therefore, blood samples were taken, which were examined at the Military Medical Academy. The results of these samples are negative for both alcohol and drugs.

Tension in the area of the race is still palpable. BTA recalls that yesterday's incident took the life of a 60-year-old man, and other participants were injured. A 27-year-old woman is fighting for her life. The organizers of the race later issued a statement that the area where the incident occurred was forbidden to the public. According to the information, the car's pilot failed to make the turn and crashed into the guardrail. Witnesses to the tragedy told our reporter that the sight was shocking.

The investigation into the tragic incident continues, the prosecution assured. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated on the basis of Art. 123 of the Penal Code. The pilot was detained for 24 hours, but his detention was not extended. At present, no persons have been brought to criminal responsibility in connection with the case.
