Police began a special operation early in the morning in the Pobeda district of Burgas and it is still going on, police said. Five people have been detained.
Officers are looking for organised groups that buy votes to sway the coming election. They are also checking who keeps and sells drugs in the district.
The operation targets petty crime. It is part of wider police action before the vote, which is also taking place in Burgas.
