The Bulgarian Patriarch and Metropolitan of Sofia Daniel held a phone conversation with the Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos III, the press service of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church - Bulgarian Patriarchate (BPC-BP) announced.
In the conversation, the head of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church - Bulgarian Patriarchate expressed his concern about the worrying news regarding the ongoing military actions in the Middle East and the reports of restricting access to the Church of the Resurrection.
The Patriarch of Jerusalem informed Patriarch Daniel about the current situation in Jerusalem and the region, emphasizing the assurances he has that the services during Holy Week and the Easter period will not be interrupted, and representatives of the Local Churches will have access to the church for the Holy Fire, as every year so far.
Bulgarian Patriarch Daniel expressed his unreserved support for the holy ancient Jerusalem Patriarchate - "Mother of Churches", and for its suffering flock, which is going through great trials.
He assured his brother that the Orthodox Bulgarian people pray daily for the holy Church of Zion and for all those who suffer from the military conflicts. The conversation ended with wishes for peace in the region and in the world, and for a bright celebration of the Feast of Feasts - the Resurrection of our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, the announcement from BPC-BP says.
