The Parliament began discussions on first reading of five bills to amend the Penal Code (PC). Point 1 of the agenda includes consideration of:
- Bill of GERB-SDS: Provides for the incrimination of the disposal of waste in unregulated places.
- Bill of DPS-New Beginning: Increases penalties for sexual offenses against children.
- Two bills from the Council of Ministers: One aims to overcome contradictions in the legislation and confiscate vehicles used for crimes. The second protects children by postponing the statute of limitations for prosecution of crimes against minors.
- Rejected bill: A bill by Bozhidar Bozhanov from “We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria“, which proposed confirming untruth before a notary to be punished as perjury.
In addition, the MPs will hear the Minister of Energy and the Executive Director of Kozloduy NPP regarding the costs of the repair programs.
The ratification of a Framework Agreement between Bulgaria and Switzerland for supporting measures in the field of migration is also foreseen.
