A large-scale monumental project to commemorate the memory of the Slavic educators Cyril and Methodius is set to be implemented in the seaside city of Pomorie. The renowned artist Prof. Georgi Minchev presented an ambitious sculptural concept for a three-meter marble monument to the local administration.
During a working meeting at the municipality, led by Mayor Ivan Aleksiev, the technical parameters of the future work were discussed. The designed sculptural composition will be of impressive size - approximately 1.30 meters wide and over 3.20 meters tall, including the pedestal.
The location is precisely determined - the central garden next to the square in front of the "Prosveta 1888" community center. Mayor Aleksiev emphasized the symbolic significance of the initiative: "We want to remind generations of our authenticity and written tradition through this monument".
Prof. Minchev is an established master with a rich creative biography. Among his prestigious distinctions are a specialization in Paris ateliers "Cite des Arts", numerous awards from the Union of Bulgarian Artists, and won national competitions. His works are part of the National Art Gallery's collections and private collections.
The next step will be submitting an official report to the Pomorie Municipal Council. Upon approval, a full urban design project will be developed, which also includes landscaping the area around the monument.
The local administration invites citizens to follow the current news about the implementation of this large-scale monumental project, which aims to preserve the memory of the Thessaloniki Brothers' work.
