The luxury business jet Bombardier Global 5000 belonging to "VABO 2017" OOD, a company linked to Vassil Bozhkov, is once again going up for auction. The starting price is €11,800,008 excluding VAT, according to the register of the Chamber of Private Enforcement Agents.
Private enforcement agent Milen Buzinski will accept bids from September 21 to October 21, 2026, with offers to be opened at the Sofia District Court on October 22. The aircraft in question is a Bombardier BD-700-1A11 Global 5000 GVFD, serial number 9693, registered in Bulgaria as LZ-VBE.
At first glance, the price looks attractive compared with previous sale attempts, but buyers need to factor in additional costs. According to the listing, the aircraft requires roughly another €1.9 million before it can fly again. That money would cover inspections and work left undone since 2020, along with subsequent checks and reinstallation of the engine, plus engineering work by the type certificate holder and the associated documentation. The plane is currently housed at Aero Dienst GmbH, an authorized service center, where it has been preserved in accordance with operational requirements. So even if everything goes according to plan, the new owner should budget at least €13.7 million in total — for the aircraft itself and for getting it flight-ready — excluding any VAT.
Tracking the price over time shows a steady decline. In January 2024, the same jet was listed for sale at 28,739,600 leva excluding VAT — about €14.69 million. The current starting price is roughly €2.89 million lower than that figure, not €1.5 million as some reports on earlier auctions claimed. The aircraft was also put up for auction in June 2026, when the starting price stood at €13,111,120. Since then, over the course of a few months, it has dropped by more than €1.31 million.
Prospective buyers must go through a strict procedure. Every bidder is required to pay a deposit of 10% of the starting price in advance. Bids below the starting amount or more than 30% above it are considered invalid, according to the enforcement agent's rules. During the sale period, both the documentation and the aircraft itself can be inspected, but only by prior arrangement. In the listing, Buzinski warns that the exact timeline for returning the plane to airworthy condition depends on the results of the technical inspections and the availability of the necessary parts. Aero Dienst expects the work to take at least several months.
The aircraft also carries a number of financial encumbrances accumulated over the years. The current register lists liens in favor of International Asset Bank, an attachment in favor of the anti-corruption commission, a subsequent lien, as well as attachments tied to enforcement proceedings from 2023, 2025 and 2026. According to the enforcement agent's records, the aircraft's owner is the company "VABO 2017" OOD. Public corporate registries show that Vassil Bozhkov is among the partners in this company — hence the aircraft's lasting association with his name.
At the first widely covered auction in 2024, the estimated cost of technical work was around €970,000. That figure has now climbed to nearly €1.9 million. In other words, over two years the price of the aircraft itself has fallen, but the bill for getting it airworthy again has nearly doubled. The new listing offers no guarantee that the projected €1.9 million will be the final figure — the ultimate cost will depend on exactly what the inspections reveal and which spare parts turn out to be needed. On October 22, it will become clear whether the business jet finally finds a buyer this time, after previous attempts to sell it failed to reach a conclusion.
