Homage to the Master: Exhibition of Todor Atanasov on the Island of Saint Anastasia
June 29th marked 41 years since the death of the prominent Burgas artist Todor Atanasov. In his honor, his family donated nine graphic works, which mark the beginning of a permanent exhibition on the island of "Saint Anastasia".
"The female figures in the series have elongated bodies, touching, young and expressive faces, bearing his creative finesse."
Creative Cycle and Techniques
The collection includes works from two main cycles:
- "Bolshevik Island" – three graphics executed in etching/aquatint technique.
- "Legend of the Island" – six graphics printed using the lithographic method from the "Elemag" graphic base.
The works impress with their delicacy, realistic drawing, and precisely developed details that turn the island into a backdrop for human destinies.
