Dangerous heat in 19 regions - orange code and warning for temperatures

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology has issued warnings for extreme temperatures in Bulgaria, with nine regions under a yellow code for high temperatures.

The meteorological situation in Bulgaria today is extremely tense, with NIMH publishing an official map with warning codes for dangerous climate conditions. The Institute has registered a serious temperature risk, covering 19 regions with an orange code and an additional nine regions with a yellow temperature regime.

The forecast for the day predicts mostly sunny weather with intense warming. The wind will be light to moderate, with a predominant eastern and northeastern direction, which will further enhance the feeling of heat.

Temperature values will reach critical levels - between 35 and 40 degrees in different parts of the country. The capital Sofia expects around 35 degrees, which poses additional challenges for urban residents.

Mountain regions are expected to have sunny weather with a moderate northeastern wind. At an altitude of 1200 meters, temperatures will reach around 28 degrees, while at 2000 meters they will be around 21 degrees.

The Black Sea will offer temperatures between 29 and 32 degrees, with seawater at 26-27 degrees and waves of 2-3 points. The sun will rise at 6:29 and set at 20:34, with a total day duration of 14 hours and 5 minutes.

The moon is in a phase two days after the full moon, complementing the meteorological picture of the day.
