Burgas council has published an online "Student Guide to Burgas". It brings together information on study, housing, work and career growth in the city, the council said.
The guide is for students at universities, academies, branches and colleges in the municipality. It is also for young people who are thinking of studying in Burgas and staying on to work here. The aim is for them to know where to find services, programmes and initiatives while they study and when they start their careers.
The guide covers housing and transport in the city, as well as the rules for applying for scholarships and for help with paying semester fees. It has sections on paid internships and jobs, on support for young entrepreneurs and start-ups, and on research projects and funding for creative ideas.
It also describes the measures for young families, and covers access to health care, culture, sport and volunteering.
Each topic comes with practical tips, useful contacts and live links to specific programmes and services.
The council says the guide is part of an effort to make Burgas a university centre that attracts young people with education, jobs, personal growth and a full life.
On the council's website, the guide is in the "Education" section, under the menu "Scholarships for pupils and students", where there is also a separate "Student Guide" banner. It is also available through Go to Burgas, the tourism portal. The address is https://www.burgas.bg/bg/obrazovanie.
