Burgas Municipality to Water and Sewerage (ViK): Stop shifting responsibility
Burgas Municipality has issued an ultimatum to ViK – Burgas for the immediate repair of the domestic sewage breakdown on "Oborishte" Street. The state-owned company has committed to sending a team for an inspection report and subsequent repair activities.
"Oborishte" Street has been dug up for months, and its residents have been held hostage because the renovation cannot continue before the breakdown is fixed.
Why was the renovation delayed?
- The breakdown is not part of the building permit or the contract for the street renovation.
- The contract with the construction company was signed 6 months before the breakdown occurred.
- Until now, ViK – Burgas has been groundlessly trying to shift its obligation onto the Municipality and the contractor.
The administration is firm: if the commitment is not fulfilled, all responsible institutions will be notified. The asphalt paving of the section between "Han Asparuh" Street and "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" Street remains blocked until the ViK repair is finalized.
